Bitelio for Shopify

Connect your Shopify store with a native OAuth app — import customers with their consent, keep marketing consent in sync both ways, and turn orders and abandoned checkouts into automated Bitelio email.

What you can do

Everything the Shopify integration brings to Bitelio

01

Native OAuth Shopify app

Connect from Settings → Integrations in a couple of clicks. Bitelio installs as a proper OAuth app on your store — no private API keys to copy, no code — and the store access token is encrypted at rest.

02

Consent-aware customer import

On connect, Bitelio imports your existing Shopify customers as contacts, carrying over tags, order counts, total spent, and last order date. Marketing consent is respected: customers who never opted in can be skipped, and an existing unsubscribe is never overwritten.

03

Two-way marketing-consent sync

New and updated Shopify customers stay in sync with your contacts, and when someone unsubscribes in Bitelio you can write that consent change straight back to Shopify so both systems agree.

04

Order events for your workflows

Every order fires a Bitelio event — created, paid, first order, fulfilled, cancelled, and refunds — carrying the order number, total, currency, and line items so a workflow can react in real time.

05

Abandoned-checkout recovery

When a shopper starts a checkout and does not finish, Bitelio waits a delay you choose (5 to 1440 minutes) and, if no order arrives and the contact is still subscribed, fires an abandoned-checkout event you can recover from.

06

Markets, languages & GDPR built in

Map each Shopify market to the language its emails go out in, and rely on the mandatory GDPR data-request and redaction webhooks that Bitelio handles for you.

What you can build

Turn store events into email your customers actually want

Post-purchase & thank-you flows

Trigger a Bitelio workflow the moment an order is paid or fulfilled to send thank-you notes, review requests, or replenishment reminders — personalised with the order details attached to the event.

Abandoned-cart recovery

Turn the abandoned-checkout event into a timed recovery sequence — a reminder, then an incentive — that stops the moment the shopper completes their order.

Win-back & VIP segments

Segment contacts by order count, total spent, tags, or last order date to re-engage lapsed buyers and reward your best customers.

Welcome the first order

A dedicated first-order event lets you greet brand-new customers differently from returning ones, right after their first purchase.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bitelio a native Shopify app?

Yes. Bitelio connects to your store as an OAuth-based Shopify app that you install from Shopify’s own approval screen. There are no private API keys to copy, and the store access token is encrypted at rest.

Does it import my existing customers?

Yes. As soon as you connect, Bitelio runs an initial import of your Shopify customers into contacts, bringing over tags, order counts, total spent, and last order date. Customers who have not given marketing consent can be skipped so you only email people who opted in.

Does marketing consent stay in sync?

Yes, and in both directions. Shopify customer updates keep your contacts current, and an unsubscribe in Bitelio can be written back to Shopify. An explicit Bitelio unsubscribe is never overridden by a later Shopify change.

Which store events can trigger emails?

Order created, paid, first order, fulfilled, cancelled, refunds, new customer, and abandoned checkout each fire a Bitelio event you can use as a workflow trigger, with the order or checkout details attached.

How does abandoned-cart recovery work?

When a checkout is started but not completed, Bitelio waits a delay you set (5 to 1440 minutes). If no order arrives and the contact is still subscribed, it fires an abandoned-checkout event your workflow can act on. Completing the order cancels the reminder automatically.

Is the integration GDPR-compliant?

Yes. Bitelio handles Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks — customer data requests, customer redaction, and shop redaction — and honours them even after a store is paused or uninstalled, so deletion requests are always respected.

How is it priced?

The Shopify integration is included in your plan. Bitelio is priced by emails sent, not by the number of contacts you store, so importing your whole customer list never raises your bill on its own.
